District will remain closed until further notice. Students will not be returning
April 9th as previously announced. Students are encouraged to visit
their school’s website for enrichment and review activities posted by their
teachers starting today. There will be further updates coming.
A few announcements from the Wellsboro Area School District: Beginning Monday, teachers will be posting structured enrichment and practice activities for students to each school’s website. Visit www.wellsborosd.org on Monday for links to everything. Parents also either have been or will be called to get specifics on Internet access or the need for materials to be sent home. If your child receives Special Education, Gifted or Chapter 504 services, please be on the lookout for information being mailed home from our Special Education Department next week. We will be continuing to provide free Grab and Go Lunches for our students next week. The schedule will be the same as this week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon-2:00pm and 4:30-6:00pm and can be picked up from either the Wellsboro Fire Hall Annex or the Nypum Drive entrance of the Truck-Lite parking lot.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education announced today all schools in the Commonwealth will remain closed until at least Thursday, April 9th. As such, Wellsboro schools will remain closed with the anticipated return of students being Thursday, April 9th. There will be further updates coming.
The Grab and Go Lunches for this coming week are back on! They will be available for pickup Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00-2:00pm and 4:30-6:00pm at both the Wellsboro Fire Hall Annex and the Nypum Drive entrance of the Truck-Lite Parking lot. If picking up from the Truck-Lite location, please use the entrance from Nypum Drive only. Two days of lunches will be provided for each student, each visit. Due to Governor Wolf’s directive for all non-life-sustaining businesses to close by 8:00pm this evening, we will no longer be able to provide Grab and Go Lunch pickups for our students until the order is lifted.
A clarification on the lunch hand out. We still have a little over 500 lunches ready to give out, so we will be giving those out tomorrow during the regular hours of noon to 2pm and from 4:30 to 6pm until they’re gone. We’re not able to make any additional lunches.

The Grab and Go Lunch pickup schedule for the remainder of this week will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from noon to 2:00pm and 4:30 to 6:00pm. Friday from noon to 2:00pm at the Wellsboro Fire Hall Annex in Wellsboro.
The Wellsboro Area School District will be providing free grab and go lunches for any school district students from noon to 2pm beginning Monday. Lunches may be picked up at the Wellsboro Fire Hall Annex, 21 East Avenue in Wellsboro. Students will be offered two days’ worth of lunches. Lunches will be available for pick up this week Monday through Friday and the week of March 23rd on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Additional days will be added based on need.
Students do not need their lunch number to participate. Students do not need to be with the parents when the lunches are picked up and friends, neighbors, and family are welcome to pick up lunches with a note from the parent.
Edit: We added the clarification that students can get two days of lunches each time they come. We did not intend they can only get two lunches over the two weeks.
The Wellsboro Area School District is offering evening hours for our free Grab and Go Lunches this evening from 4:30 to 6:00pm at the Wellsboro Fire Hall Annex for parents who can't get there during the day. We are making plans to have meals available other nights, as well as deliveries, but they are not finalized yet so more information will follow.
The Wellsboro Area School District will comply with Governor Wolf’s order for schools across the Commonwealth to close for 10 business days beginning Monday, March 16th. Because the order does not take effect until Monday, this weekend’s activities will go on as planned.
